more than just travel

We want to share the world with you.

“Travel makes one modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.” – Gustave Flaubert

Walking down a foreign street, trying new foods, listening to stories and immersing ourselves in another culture transforms our thinking. Travel helps us understand the world and each other.

We’re passionate about art, music, history, language; about making sure you taste the very best ice cream in Paris and witness the grandeur of Westminster Abbey.

“Stuff your eyes with wonder, live as if you’d drop dead in ten seconds. See the world. It’s more fantastic than any dream made or paid for in factories.” – Ray Bradbury

Shelah Miner

A junior high French teacher, Shelah fell in love with Europe during her first trip in college (a solo backpacking adventure) and has lived in Belgium and London. She taught English at the college level for many years, and has lots to say about both Shakespeare and Stromae. A mom to six, Shelah’s most adventurous travel experiences involved taking two one-year-olds on a journey all over China and getting a flat tire in a Costa Rican rainforest.

Michelle Lehnardt

In 1989, Michelle spent six months in Europe where she watched the Berlin Wall come down, traveled to 17 countries, ate her body weight in pastries and chocolate, changed her major to History and fell in love with all things European. An award winning photographer, videographer, writer and mother of six, Michelle is a certified life coach and co-hosts the podcast and coaching site “Build Your Teenager.” She can’t think of anything she’d rather do than introduce teenagers to Paris and London.

Erik Lehnardt

We like to call him ‘the Muscle’ at Blue Bicycle, but he can take you straight to the Mona Lisa at the Louvre, speak several languages (at least a bit) and wax poetic about Winston Churchill’s accomplishments and Jane Austen’s novels. If anyone threatens our group, he’ll channel his inner Niam Leeson and save the day. Insider’s tip: stay close to Erik and you’ll get more gelato.

Hans Lehnardt

Hans will climb the ramparts on the Tower of London with you, reveal fascinating stories about Marie Antoinette’s village in Versailles and keep you laughing every minute. Fluent in French and Malagasy, Hans is also a registered CNA and will be in charge of all cry babies.
